Laboratory 33. Nasal Cavity

The objective of this laboratory will be to examine the morphology of the nasal cavities. Emphasis will be placed on the anatomy of the medial (septal) and lateral walls of each cavity, and the distribution of vessels and nerves associated with each nasal wall. The location and opening of each paranasal sinus in relation to the nasal cavity also will be studied.

Finally, the contents of the pterygopalatine fossa will be examined. I t is within this fossa that the terminal branches arise from the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve (V2) and the maxillary artery gives its terminal branches.
