(2 of 2) The ossicles of the middle ear can be removed to study their individual anatomical features. First, remove the incus , and then the malleus. Finally, attempt to remove the stapes from its insertion into the oval window of the inner ear, which is located on the medial wall of the middle ear cavity.
Examine the anatomical features of each ossicle that has been removed from the middle ear cavity and disarticulated:
malleus
incus 
stapes
